Walk Through Dinosaur Exhibit in Waretown, NJ

It’s a dinosaur summer! With the latest movie “Jurassic Park” (Dominion) already grossing over $600,000,000 at the worldwide box office, prehistoric beasts are going to be hard to avoid this summer.

Well, for less than the price of an average movie ticket, you can take your kids on a dinosaur driving adventure in Waretown on July 9th and 10th.jurassic wonderand it features dinosaurs that move and make noise as you walk past them.

It is billed as both education and entertainment, aimed at children up to 12 years old. The animatronic dinos are COVID-friendly for this driving experience.

The show will take place at Corliss Park Lake and Recreation Area. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Tickets are $12 per car and can be ordered here.

Some of the walking dinosaurs you will encounter include Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Iguanodon, Pteranodon, T-Rex, Carnotaurus, and Velociraptor.

The attraction’s owner, Ted Hill, said on WTOP radio how exposure works:

“Each dinosaur is a metal or stainless steel frame and inside are motors and operational equipment that move them,” Hill said. “When someone stops in front of the dinosaurs, there’s an infrared light that triggers the dinosaurs to move. It roars, makes sounds, eyes move, so for a lot of little kids, it’s the real deal.

The ride takes about 15 minutes, and there’s an audio tour you can listen to on your cell phone to guide you and provide context for what you’re seeing (and hearing).
