“There was a bittersweet tinge of sadness”
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and producer-director Aanand L Rai wrapped up filming for their upcoming film, Raksha Bandhan, in Delhi on Monday. Initially, the film had shot on the parquet floors in June. Akshay shared the news with fans on Instagram on Tuesday. He posted a candid photo with Aanand from the film set and wrote: “Here’s everything me and @aanandlrai did throughout the set of #RakshaBandhan – laugh like there’s no tomorrow! Ironically, as we wrapped up the movie last night, there was a bittersweet tinge of sadness. Let’s move on to the next one. New day, new roller coaster. “
Also starring Bhumi Pednekar, Raksha Bandhan is set to hit theaters on August 11, 2022 – Independence Weekend. Co-written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon, the film is produced by Color Yellow Productions, Zee Studios, Alka Hiranandani in association with Cape Of Good Films.
Akshay Kumar wraps up filming for upcoming movie with Ranjit M Tewari abroad
Akshay had announced the film on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan last year. He dedicated the film to his sister Alka. In 2017, Alka revealed the “greatest gift” Akshay (whom she affectionately calls “Raju”) gave her. She said in one video, “Mum-Dad would insist that if I had to go out late or attend a party night then I should ask Raju to come with me. He would never go with me and always say to me, ‘You have to take care of your own safety.’ And I was like, ‘Why?’ “She added that she had missed many evenings because of it. Alka also spoke about the emptiness in their lives when their father passed away and how Akshay has” quietly “been resumed his responsibilities.
Akshay Kumar has a series of films slated for release in the coming months, including “Sooryavanshi”, “Prithiviraj”, “Bachchan Pandey”, “Atrangi Re” and “Ram Setu”.
