More PTPTN loans repaid through online channels
MORE than half of National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan repayments in the first two months of the year were made online, according to the company.
PTPTN Managing Director Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid said that 51.66% (RM265.91 million) of the loan repayment of RM514.7 million collected through 1.2 million transactions from January 1 to January 28 February were paid online.
As for their Simpan SSPN (National Education Savings Scheme) savings product, it said a total of 1.04 million transactions were made through online channels involving deposits amounting to 306.79 million from RM.
This was equivalent to 49% of total deposits from January 1 to February 28, or RM626.04 million. “It proves that the various online channels provided by PTPTN are still used by customers,” he said at the launch of the PTPTN mobile app. recently.
Ahmad Dasuki also said that the new app, known as myPTPTN, will be the best platform for the company to engage with young people as they are tech-savvy and looking for digital facilities. which will be useful to them.
He said the app was developed to ensure that PTPTN is on par with other financial institutions in the market by providing the latest digital facilities in line with the ongoing digital transformation.
“PPTTN’s mobile application development is also benchmarked against banking industry best practices,” he added.
Ahmad Dasuki also said the app is the company’s first initiative in conjunction with its 25th Silver Jubilee celebration.
During the launch, which was also streamed online, Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad said the mobile app will enable users to access PTPTN services anytime and anywhere easily, Quickly and safely.
She said that among the services provided in the app are loan statement reviews, loan repayments, SSPN statement reviews, account opening and adding Simpan SSPN deposit, as well as requests for payroll deductions and direct debit for loan repayments and Simpan SSPN.
Noraini said the app is expected to benefit more than 3.63 million borrowers and 5.28 million Simpan SSPN depositors.
“Customers can enjoy various PTPTN features related to repayment, savings and loans in a single application through single sign-on (SSO),” she added.
Noraini said the app is equipped with the latest security technologies.
“Electronic identity verification is required for every user before performing any transaction, including verification of email and phone number during registration, as well as transactions verified using Transaction Authorization Code (TAC),” she said.
