This is reminiscent of the ongoing “Disney Must Pay” dispute.
In May 2021, an article shared details of various creators struggling to receive royalties for years of selling books. Many well-known authors have formed a task force to attempt to bring legal action against The Walt Disney Company, with the help of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America organization:
… About a dozen authors know they were denied royalties years ago, but it is likely that others are affected without knowing what is owed to them. Now Alan Dean Foster and other writers including Neil Gaiman, Tess Gerritsen, Mary Robinette Kowal, and Chuck Wendig have set up a #DisneyMustPay task force to fight to get all of these writers paid for their work.

It’s so crazy to me that David Aja designed just about the entire aesthetic of the Hawkeye show and doesn’t get any credit or payment for it. As if he wasn’t and inspired, they literally copied him bar for bar, word for word and he didn’t touch a dime.

The influence, style and aesthetic of David Aja’s art throughout the series is so strong, especially with the wonderful opening and closing credits of the episodes. Why the hell didn’t Marvel pay and credit him. he deserves much better

Barra noted how unhappy they were with Marvel’s uncredited use of the artwork in question:
As much as I (REALLY) enjoyed Hawkeye, it’s pretty bad for Marvel to rip David Aja off. It is very evident throughout the show that the font and style used is from the comic book he co-created.
It would have been a huge praise if they hadn’t fucked him.
