google: Google Chrome logo has been redesigned, can also be customized for iOS, Mac and Windows

google Chrome has a new logo. The logo (only if you look closely) appears to have brighter colors and a larger blue circle in the center. Also, the new icon doesn’t have a shadow like the previous one. Google Chrome logo changed after 8 years gap.
The browser was introduced in 2008. Since then, the design and the basic elements of the logo remained modified with timely changes in 2011 and 2014.
Chrome designer Elvin Hu detailed the changes to the browser’s logo in a series of tweets. “Some of you may have noticed a new icon in Chrome’s Canary update today. Yes! we’re refreshing Chrome-branded icons for the first time in 8 years. New icons will soon start appear on your devices,” he wrote in a tweet.
“We simplified the main brand icon by removing shadows, refining proportions and brightening colors, to align with the more modern expression of the Google brand,” he added.
Another change introduced by the company concerns OS-specific customizations for Windows, Mac, and iOS devices. For Windows 10 and 11, the Chrome icon will have a graduated look that merges with other taskbar icons. On macOS, the icon will have a 3D design similar to Apple system apps.
Although it uses more vibrant colors and no additional gradient on ChromeOS, the beta app on iOS will have an outline-like icon as a nod to Apple’s developer-focused apps, and the icon for the Stable app will have new proportions on the tile.
All of these changes, Hu said, are being introduced to “align with Google’s more modern brand expression.” You might ask, “why bother with sth. We tailor the Chrome experience to each operating system, with features like native window occlusion on Windows, M1 support from the first on macOS, Widgets on iOS/Android and Material You on Android. We want our brand to convey the same level of care.” he said.
