ACDL Loops 25 Days of Vacation Programs | Local news
ASHTABULA – The end of December marked the end of 25 days of successful Ashtabula County Library (ACDL) vacation programs.
From December 1 to 25, ACLD offered a program or activity that all members of the community can enjoy for free. Events ranged from art labs and holiday bingo to Christmas carols and movie nights.
“The concept was for our customers to be able to open a new gift from the library every day from December until Christmas Day,” said Dwight Meyer, Adult Programming and Outreach Coordinator. “We aim to build community, to provide fun activities, and there have been some thoughts on addressing isolation, disconnection, and stress reduction in the modern world.”
Sponsor Judy Perkins was one of the many local residents who attended the programs.
“I don’t like to be home on my own,” she said. “I like to go out as much as possible. My favorite program was the Holiday DeStress with all these essential oils.
With the holidays now over, ACDL looks forward to the New Year and introduces many new programs to the community, such as the Chess Club, a STEM program for students, and the Winter Reading Challenge for Adults.
The full program schedule is available online at events.acdl.info.
